We were surprised to see how much Providence Canyon has changed in the last few years. The sides are falling in and filling in the bottom of the canyon. We found a direction sign, much like the sign above, that is now only a few inches from the floor of the canyon. The posts for the sign were buried in mud.
We did have a lot of fun walking on every trail inside the canyon (except the permit-only sections for backpacking).
